The Secretary General of the Anglican Communion, Canon John L Peterson, is planning to spend Christmas and New Year in Jerusalem and Bethlehem. He will also be present at the launch of Millennium Celebrations, a few weeks earlier on 4th December.

It is again with a sense of great privilege and rejoicing that I stand before you as the Secretary General of the Anglican Communion to share with you, the members of the Anglican Consultative Council, where we are at this moment as a world-wide Communion of churches as scenes of our global family pass in front of your eyes.

What a great joy it is for me finally to stand before you after being in office for almost two years. What a great privilege it is to meet the appointed members of the Anglican Consultative Council from around the Anglican Communion. I have been waiting a long time for this day and I am thrilled it has finally come.
